 higher elevations?\n\nThese questions and more will be answered in this 2-
 part workshops. SDSU Master Canners\, Steve Sikorski and Amber Lounsbery\,
  will share their many years of experience in each of these hands-on oppor
 tunities. \n\nParticipants will be able to peel\, chop and boil fruits to 
 make their very own jar to take home. We will be covering canning safety\,
  equipment and ways to process while sharing stories of our successes and 
 failures. Come with your questions! \n\nFor this class\, August 30\, we wi
 ll make Apple Relish. If you haven't missed it\, check out August 23 when 
 we will be making Fruit Jam.\n\nThe partnership with the Mary Jo Wegner Ar
 boretum provides Ground Works/SD Ag in the Classroom an invaluable place t
 o resource the “Research and Development” piece of the teaching garden edu
 cation focus.  Local volunteers from the Minnehaha Master Gardeners collab
 orate with both organizations to plant\, care for\, harvest\, and educate 
 using the teaching gardens as a demonstration and learning center.  “This 
 is where we can experiment with new techniques and try them out before we 
 introduce them to our teachers out in the field.” said Tim Olsen\, executi
 ve director of leadership and administration.\n\nPlease wear comfortable c
 lothing and closed-toe shoes.
