X-WR-CALDESC:Did you know that no two snowflakes are the same? However\, th
ere are some similarities that scientists have discovered. In the mid 1800
’s a famous meteorologist / photographer Wilson A. Bentley (Snowflake Bent
ley) was fascinated by snowflake crystals and started documenting them wit
h photography. Join us in this journey as we uncover some of his observati
ons\, how snowflakes form\, and a short walk to experience some snow cryst
als around the arboretum. \n\n'Under the microscope\, I found that snowfl
akes were miracles of beauty\; and it seemed a shame that this beauty sho
uld not be seen and appreciated by others. Every crystal was a masterpiec
e of design and no one design was ever repeated. When a snowflake melted\
, that design was forever lost. Just that much beauty was gone\, without
leaving any record behind.' \n\n Wilson Bentley (1925)\n\nAndrea
