Walk Historic Trails
The Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum & East Sioux Falls Historic Site's walking trails vary in difficulty level and approximate walking time. While exploring our networks of trails and paths, enjoy sightings of local wildlife, including deer, turkey, waterfowl, bald eagles, and many other species on our 155-acre property. The trails are groomed only during summer months.

Quarry Trail
Follow the old rail bed to the rock crusher ruins where the stone cutters of East Sioux Falls worked.

Creekside Trail
Discover a nature area and a crossing along the creek.

Perry Trail
Explore the Perry Nature Area including the historic bur oak and Main Avenue bridge.

Rivers Edge Trail
Take a relaxing walk along an open field by the woods of the Big Sioux River

Railbed/ River Trail
Go along the old rail bed from the East Sioux Falls History Plaza to an overlook of the big Sioux River.

Formal Gardens Path
Enjoy a scenic stroll through the gardens including a pond and waterfall and wedding pergola.
